How to format on Windows 95/98/ME/2000
1. Firstly, you will need to backup everything via floppy disk/CD-ROM or network
2. Then you will need to create a bootup disk (Startup disk) by going to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and then Startup disk tab
3. Once you have a bootup disk, restart the PC with it placed into the drive
4. It should load a menu asking whether to use CD-ROM support or not .. choose YES
5. It will begin a temporary RAM drive procedure, and once all the files have been loaded you will get a command prompt which will look something like A:/>
6. If you have followed the last few steps correctly, and you are at the command prompt .. you will need to type "FORMAT C:" and press enter to begin the formatting procedure (this can take quite a while depending on the size of your hardrive)
7. Once the format has complete, you will then need to grab your Windows CD
8. Next you will need to type your CD-ROM drive (it is usually E: at this step) press enter, and then type SETUP
9. Windows Setup should hopefully load and from there on you can follow instuctions and end up with a clean Windows installation
